What to expect

Difficulty

Computational

The early problems are around AMC 10/12 level. The round gets much harder as it goes, moving through AIME and into olympiad-level ideas.

Proof

The proof section starts with approachable AIME-level ideas and builds toward national and international olympiad problems.

These labels describe content, not time.

Advancement

The top quarter advances

About one in four Round 1 competitors will qualify for the live final. The cutoff depends on participation and scores.

Round 1 recognition

Top 3 + Honorable Mentions

The top three receive awards; nearby scores earn Honorable Mentions. These awards are separate from the live final.

Round 2 · Live Final

Live format

The final has about 10 short-answer problems, released one at a time. Competitors submit answers live, so correctness and speed both matter.

10 → 5

The first correct answer earns 10 points, followed by 9, 8, and 7. Later correct answers earn 5.

~10 min

Time limit for each problem.

How scoring works

  • 01Correct submissions are rewarded in order of arrival: 10, 9, 8, 7, then a smaller base score for later correct answers.
  • 02Each incorrect submission costs about one point on that problem.
  • 03This discourages answer spamming while still letting competitors fix a genuine mistake.
